Prinsi Barbaresco Gaia Principe 2001 is the Prince of Italian wines. Wine collectors throughout the world seek out this elite wine that is hand crafted in Piedmont, Italy. Gaia Principe Barbaresco 2001 is produced with 100% Nebbiolo from Piedmont. The color is Ruby red with Garnet reflexes. Barbaresco features a bouquet with hints of ripe fruit, vanilla, cinnamon and pepper. In the mouth it is elgant, spicy and shows hints of vanilla. It has a smooth and long finish. This perfect Barbaresco is made from the Gaia Principe Vineyards Cru. With an altitude of 320 meters, the vines face South West. There are only three and a half hectarias of Nebbiolo grapes available for this great Italian red wine. Fermentation is through a submerged cap system at a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius. This process allows it to obtain the right polyphenoles concentration. In the Spring the final fermentation is in Allier casks. After the special fermentation process, the Barbaresco wine spends 30 months aging in Allier and Slovanian Oak casks. Thereafter it is bottled aged for 6 more months. Drink through 2020

Produced by The Azienda Agricola Prinsi, this rich wine's production is overseen by some of the most talented wine makers in the region. The winery sits at the top of the hill in Piedmont, Italy overlooking Alba. Owned by the Lequio and Germano families for more than three generations, they grow grapes, make and ages the wines in accordance with an unaltered production philosophy. This old oenological tradition has allowed them to guarantee high quality level by limiting grape production, by a rigorously controlled vinification and an aging method based on tradition.
